Lilli Sings The Blues

Lilli Adams works for Bridger Cleaning Services in Bozeman, Montana after retiring from her previous life as a university professor when the English department becomes implicated in a student tragedy. Lilli cannot cope with this tragedy initially and decides to return to her previous home in Bozeman where she felt her life was rich and complete. Lilli discovers that three of the clients she cleans for have become involved in the past smuggling of a rare blue diamond back in the 1940’s and 50’s from Namibia, South Africa when the DeBeers Diamond Cartel was fully in control of diamond mines and production. As the mystery unfolds, she finds out that the blue diamond has circulated between the three families generationally and that the diamond had to be kept secret until one, or all of them decide to sell. When that secret is broken, Lilli’s life becomes threatened as she finds out who was willing to kill to obtain and sell the blue diamond. Lilli goes on a circuitous search where she returns to the homes of those she suspects are involved and uncovers the truth of what happened during the post-war period when three geologists associated with the mines smuggled the blue diamond. As Lilli uncovers the history of blue diamonds and their worth, she finds herself embedded in the greed and passions that revolves around the wealth and rarity of the blue. And those willing to kill for it.
